Clean Equitable Jobs Act / Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition

QCI is a member of the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition. We are working to ensure the proper implementation of the Clean Energy Jobs Act (CEJA). CEJA is a bold law that will put Illinois on a path to a 100% clean energy future by 2045, protect public health from pollution, provide a just transition for communities historically dependent on dirty fossil fuels, enact tough utility accountability measures, and create jobs and wealth in Illinois’ Black and Brown communities.

Unlike other states which rely on vague “goals” to hopefully reduce carbon emissions, CEJA has both near-term and long-term hard requirements with specific dates to reduce and eventually stop burning dirty fossil fuels altogether.

We made over 9,000 calls to voters in IL and helped pass the Clean Equitable Jobs Act. Now, we have teamed up to make sure the implementation of this bill reaches our Rock Island County community. Our goal is to make sure Rock Island benefits from the many aspects of CEJA.

Reach out to us if you would like to learn more about CEJA through our Listen, Lead, Share events.
